This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our web application and services to synthesize and connect ideas across domains.

A. Information You Provide

When you sign up for an account, we may collect your email address for account creation and magic link authentication.

B. Social Media Identity (OAuth)

If you choose to sign in via Google or Twitter/X, we receive basic profile information from the provider, including your unique ID, email, and display name.

C. Reading & Usage Data

To provide our core service, we ingest content from RSS feeds, URLs, and other sources you provide or approve. We store the content of these items, AI-generated summaries, extracted themes, and your feedback (likes, discards, and comments) to improve your personalized digests.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the SophAI service.
• Authenticate your identity and manage your subscription.
• Process and synthesize content using AI models to generate your daily digests.
• Learn from your feedback to compound your personal intelligence over time.
• Enable the Converse feature over your historical reading data.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties. We only share information with trusted third parties who assist us in operating our application:

• Google & Twitter/X: For the purpose of OAuth authentication.
• Polar.sh: For processing subscription payments.
• OpenRouter / AI Providers: Content summaries and queries are processed by external Large Language Models (like Gemini). We only send the minimum context required to generate your digests and answer your Converse queries.

5. Data Security

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information, including secure session management and encrypted communication over HTTPS.

6. Cookies and Website Analytics

We use local storage and basic cookies to remember your login session and your preferences.

Our marketing website (sophai.app) uses Plausible Analytics to measure aggregate page views. Plausible does not use cookies, does not collect personal data, and cannot track you across other websites.
